Spotlight on Rosé
Rosé is named after the colour
coming from the French word 'rosé', meaning 'pink' and has become a popular choice for many years now. Australian and New Zealand winemakers are responding to demand with a big selection of affordable and high quality wines. While styles vary, most Australian Rosés are made in a similar way, with the main differences being in the grape varieties used, the region of origin and residual sugar and alcohol levels.
We are spoilt for choice with fantastic Rosés from Pinot Noir, Grenache, Sangiovese and Cabernet grapes. The beauty of Rosé is that it is a food friendly wine and pairs with an assortment of dishes - these wines really have the most to offer when served with food. Enjoy with anything from Mediterrean (olives, garlic, hard cheeses) to tapas, gourmet pizza or something spicy to bring out the fruit flavours. Rosés are best served chilled and enjoyed soon after release.
There's never been a better time to be an Australian Rosé drinker.
