Ingredients
1 bottle of red wine
1/4 cup Cointreau
1 Orange
8 whole coves
whol2 cinnamon stickse cloves
2 star anise
2 to 4 tablespoons sugar
Directions
  1. Add wine, Cointreau, orange (sliced into rounds), cloves, cinnamon, star anise, and 2 tablespoons sugar to a large saucepan. Stir briefly to combine.

  2. Cook on medium-high heat until it reaches an almost simmer.  Reduce heat to low, cover, and let the wine simmer for at least 15 minutes.

  3. Strain to remove orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and star anise. Taste, and stir in extra sugar if needed.
